Privacy Policy
Perfect Square · Last updated 5 August 2026
Perfect Square does not collect your personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Your puzzle history stays on your device.
What is stored on your device
The app saves the following locally, so the game remembers where you were. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and all of it is deleted if you delete the app:
- Which puzzles you have finished, your times, and whether you used hints
- A board you left part-finished
- Whether you have unlocked the archive
- A cached copy of the puzzles themselves
What leaves your device
The app makes one kind of network request: it downloads puzzle files from a site we operate on GitHub Pages. This is how everyone gets the same puzzle on the same day.
These requests contain no information about you. As with any website, GitHub receives your device's IP address and records it in ordinary server logs. That data is handled by GitHub, not by us, under GitHub's privacy statement. We do not receive, store, or look at those logs.
Purchases
If you unlock the archive, the payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card details, billing address, or Apple ID.
To know whether a purchase is valid and to restore it if you change devices, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives a randomly generated identifier for your installation along with the details of the purchase itself. It is not linked to your name or email. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Sharing your results
When you share a result, the app puts the text on your clipboard and hands it to iOS. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice — nothing is sent by the app, and the shared text never contains the puzzle's letters.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.
